The VP89’s modular design allows the selection of long, medium, or short barrels to suit different recording scenarios:

• Long Barrel: Optimized for distant sound sources such as wildlife, sports, and ENG applications, offering a narrow pickup pattern with exceptional off-axis rejection.

• Medium Barrel: Ideal for live shows, talk shows, or audience capture, providing a moderate pickup angle with precise and natural audio.

• Short Barrel: Best for near-field recordings, discreet setups, or camera-mounted applications, featuring a wide pickup angle to capture full, detailed sound.

Additional features include a recessed low-cut filter switch, internal low-frequency roll-off, and a compact, rugged design built to withstand demanding field use.
