The JBL VTX S28 Dual 18-inch Cardioid Subwoofer is a high-performance, full-size subwoofer engineered for professional touring, installation, and theatrical sound applications. Featuring two 2269H 18-inch Differential Drive transducers with dual voice coils and neodymium magnets, the S28 delivers extreme peak-to-peak excursion and extended very low-frequency performance, providing powerful, precise bass coverage even in the largest venues.
Designed for flexible deployment, the S28 can be used as a standalone subwoofer, ground-stacked, or suspended in cardioid arrays. It integrates seamlessly with VTX V25 suspension systems, allowing placement at the top, middle, or alongside V25 arrays to extend low-frequency line length, optimize vertical pattern control, and improve rear rejection. The subwoofer is compatible with JBL VTX V20 and VTX V25-II modules, enabling complex system configurations for balcony coverage, underbalcony fill, and multi-block cardioid setups.
The enclosure is constructed from rugged Finnish birch plywood with a black DuraFlex finish and features ten integral recessed handles for safe handling and transport. Reverse-cardioid operation is facilitated through front-facing NL4 connectors and factory presets, ensuring efficient directional control. JBL V5 system processing combined with Crown I-Tech HD or VRack amplifiers and HiQnet Performance Manager control enables full DSP customization for optimal performance in a variety of applications.
Accessories such as the VTX V25 AF Array Frame provide flexible suspension and ground-stacking solutions, supporting up to 24 cabinets and multiple pick point configurations. This makes the VTX S28 an ideal solution for professional audio setups requiring high-output, precision low-frequency performance.
