The Monitor Audio PLIC II is a premium architectural in-ceiling loudspeaker engineered to deliver exceptional high-fidelity performance within discreet residential and commercial audio installations. Developed as part of the Platinum II range, the PLIC II combines advanced acoustic technologies, installation-friendly engineering, and refined industrial design to meet the demands of high-performance home cinema and multi-room audio environments.

At the core of the PLIC II is an 8-inch long-throw RDT II bass driver designed to deliver deep, controlled, and highly accurate low-frequency performance. The advanced RDT II cone technology enhances rigidity while maintaining low mass, allowing the driver to respond rapidly and precisely to audio signals with minimal distortion. Complementing the bass driver are dual 2-inch C-CAM mid-range drivers and Monitor Audio’s MPD high-frequency transducer, mounted on a rigid die-cast aluminium baffle and directed toward the listening position for consistent and wide dispersion across the mid and high frequencies.

All drivers utilize heavy-duty motor systems featuring under-hung motor assemblies and copper shorting rings to improve magnetic linearity and reduce intermodulation distortion. This advanced driver architecture contributes to exceptionally clear and detailed sound reproduction even at demanding listening levels.

Designed for both retrofit and new-build installations, the PLIC II incorporates Monitor Audio’s Tri-Grip fixing system for fast, secure, and reliable ceiling mounting. Compatibility with the MDF PLIC-BOX II back box ensures optimized acoustic performance with controlled air volume and reduced standing waves. The low-profile magnetic grille design provides discreet integration and can be painted to match surrounding décor, while an optional square grille is available for architectural consistency.
