Allen & Heath M-MADI2-A dual-port MADI I/O module

The Allen & Heath M-MADI2-A is a professional MADI interface module designed to add high-channel-count digital audio connectivity to compatible iLive and GLD systems. The module enables seamless integration with broadcast systems, recording equipment, OB vans, and third-party digital consoles by providing two independent streams of bidirectional MADI audio transmission.

Each MADI link supports 64 channels of 24-bit digital audio at a 48 kHz sample rate over standard 75-ohm coaxial cables. The dual-port design allows engineers to configure the module in Dual Link Mode for simultaneous connection to two separate devices or in Redundant Mode to maintain uninterrupted audio and clock transmission in the event of a cable failure.

An additional configurable AUX BNC connector significantly increases system flexibility. It can duplicate Link 1 output streams for signal distribution, pass through Link 1 input streams for daisy-chaining multiple devices, or function as a word clock input or output for system synchronization. The fully reclocked and buffered signal path ensures maximum reliability during demanding live and broadcast applications.

Signals from either MADI stream can be routed to the host console in blocks of eight channels, allowing efficient management of large-scale recording and broadcast workflows. The module also supports synchronization from either MADI stream or an external word clock source, making it suitable for complex multi-device installations requiring precise clock distribution.
