Soundcraft ViLR-96MO Local Rack

The Soundcraft ViLR-96MO is a Local Rack designed to work alongside a Vi5000 or Vi7000 control surface, housing the DSP and I/O hardware that connects the compact control surface to the Vi Series stagebox system. This particular variant provides multimode optical connectivity and supports 96kHz operation.

Various operating modes are available depending on the number of DSP cards fitted, ranging from 128 inputs and 32 stereo busses at 48kHz using five DSP cards, up to 64 inputs and 32 stereo busses at 96kHz using eight DSP cards, giving system designers flexibility to balance channel count against sample rate for a given production.

Cat5 or Cat7 cabling with Amphenol RJF connectors provides a robust connection between the Vi Series stagebox and the local rack, allowing the mixing position to be located up to 100 metres from the stage. Where longer runs are required, an optional fibre-optic interface extends this distance to as much as 1.5 kilometres between the stagebox and the local rack.

In addition to the full 64-input Stagebox, the ViLR-96MO local rack can also be used with the smaller Compact Stagebox or the Mini Stagebox MSB16/MSB32 in space-restricted environments, and supports a wide range of ViSi Connect interface cards for further system integration.
