The Genelec 8010A squeezes true reference performance and extended frequency response into an extremely compact package, making it the natural choice when studio space is limited or when engineers need a reliable monitoring companion on the move. Despite its diminutive size, the 8010A is every bit a Genelec professional monitor: uncoloured, accurate and powerful.
A 3-inch woofer and 3/4-inch metal dome tweeter are each driven by dedicated 25W Class-D amplifiers, delivering a frequency response of 74Hz to 20kHz (±2.5dB) and a maximum SPL of 96dB. Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology shapes the dispersion pattern of the tweeter, contributing to a flat, consistent response both on and off axis.
The 8010A’s die-cast aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) features softly curved edges and large internal volume relative to its size, minimizing cabinet-edge diffraction and delivering outstanding mechanical strength alongside imaging accuracy that belies the monitor’s compact footprint. The raw finish leaves the natural cast aluminium surface visible for an industrial, unpainted aesthetic.
Rear-panel room response controls, including Desktop Control and Bass Tilt settings, allow the 8010A to be tuned for desktop placement or proximity to boundaries. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) automatically switches the monitor to a low-power standby mode when no signal is present, and the included Iso-Pod stand decouples the monitor from vibration while allowing angle adjustment.
