Compact enough to fit into the tightest of spaces yet intelligent enough to adapt to the recording environment, the Genelec 8320A is the entry point into the world of Smart Active Monitoring. Built upon the electro-acoustic foundations of Genelec’s 1200, 8000 and 7000 Series products, the 8320A brings today’s most advanced networked monitoring technology to a compact 4-inch format.

A 4-inch woofer and 3/4-inch tweeter are each driven by dedicated 50W Class-D amplifiers, producing a frequency response of 55Hz to 23kHz and a maximum SPL of 100dB. The recycled aluminium, rear-ported Minimum Diffraction Enclosure provides staggering low-frequency extension from such a compact unit, while the integrated Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) guarantees precise, detailed performance both on and off axis. The raw finish leaves the natural cast aluminium visible for an industrial look.

As a Smart Active Monitor, the 8320A integrates closely with Genelec’s GLM software, through which it can be configured and calibrated for a specific listening environment. The AutoCal automated calibration system measures and compensates for detrimental room influences, creating a truly optimised monitoring solution that scales from mono to fully immersive formats.

GLM network flexibility allows computer control of up to 30 monitors and subwoofers from a single interface, with each unit factory calibrated and 100% evaluated for acoustic performance, ensuring excellent consistency between units. Built-in signal overload protection enhances long-term dependability, making the 8320A well suited to project studios, broadcast vans, digital edit suites and post-production facilities.
