KEF Ci5120QLM-THX In-Wall Speaker
The KEF Ci5120QLM-THX in-wall speaker brings a three-way driver arrangement to a discreet architectural installation. Four 120 mm bass drivers work alongside a 100 mm Uni-Q midrange unit and a 19 mm vented aluminium tweeter. This configuration gives the speaker dedicated bass, midrange and high-frequency sections within a single elongated enclosure profile.
The twelfth-generation Uni-Q array places the tweeter at the centre of the midrange driver. Metamaterial Absorption Technology manages unwanted sound behind the tweeter, supporting cleaner high-frequency reproduction. THX Ultra certification defines the speaker's intended home cinema performance, making it suitable for a system designed around substantial playback capability and consistent sound across the listening area.
The specified open-backed frequency response is 45 Hz to 20 kHz at ±6 dB. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, sensitivity is 89 dB at 2.83V/1m, and recommended amplifier power is 25–250W. Crossover points at 440 Hz and 2.75 kHz divide the operating ranges between the three driver sections. A 150-degree nominal coverage angle provides a further reference for room layout and speaker positioning.
The Ultra Thin Bezel and paintable magnetic metal grille help the visible face integrate with the wall. External dimensions are 818 × 186 × 96 mm, with a 795 × 163 mm cut-out and 90 mm mounting depth. The speaker weighs 9.7 kg and carries an IP64 rating. These physical and electrical specifications allow the installation to be planned as part of a complete architectural cinema system. The separate bass and midrange sections help the speaker combine substantial low-frequency reproduction with a concentrated Uni-Q source for the central and upper audio ranges.
