The XT5-40 is a premium industrial 4-inch (114 mm) thermal transfer and direct thermal label printer designed for high-volume industrial environments such as warehouses, logistics, and manufacturing. This industrial printer supports UHF RFID print-and-encode functionality with close-spaced inlay encoding (minimum 16 mm pitch). It offers high-speed printing up to 14 ips (356 mm/sec at 203 dpi) and selectable print resolutions of 203 dpi, 300 dpi, or 600 dpi for high-definition output. The XT5-40 accommodates wide-ranging media rolls up to 203 mm in diameter and ribbons up to 450 m, with optional features such as auto-cutter, peeler, and rewinder for enhanced flexibility.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, including USB Host, Ethernet 1Gbit/sec, serial, parallel, Bluetooth MFi-certified, and dual-band WLAN. Device management and monitoring are supported via BIXOLON Profile Manager (XPM/XCM) and SoftAP Wi-Fi setup. The intuitive 3.5-inch or 4.3-inch color touch LCD allows easy in-field operation, while toolless maintenance of the roller and print head ensures minimal service interruptions. The robust aluminum body with adhesiveless metal casing and a space-saving double folding door provides durability and ergonomic convenience.

The XT5-40 supports various emulations including SLCS, BPL-Z, BPL-E, BPL-D, ZPL, EPL, and DPL. It can generate 1D/2D barcodes, user-defined graphics, and flexible label formats. Optional accessories and software tools like Twin Function™ enable copying printer settings and data via USB, and SAP Smart Forms can be printed directly.
