The Reference 9 White Matt compact speaker delivers high-performance sound in a small, elegant design. Drawing on over 50 years of Canton engineering, it integrates floorstanding speaker technologies to produce dynamic and detailed audio capable of filling larger rooms. Its compact size is enhanced by a large mid-bass driver and an integrated bass guide system, enabling deep and controlled low-frequency reproduction.

The 2-way bass reflex system features a 174 mm black ceramic tungsten midrange/bass driver that combines high rigidity, low mass, and excellent internal damping for precise and natural reproduction of bass and midrange frequencies. A 25 mm BC tweeter with aluminum ceramic oxide material ensures crisp, detailed, and transparent high frequencies.

Careful laboratory and listening-room tuning, combined with a hand-selected crossover network, provides optimal driver interaction, balanced impedance, and accurate impulse response. WBT nextgen™ terminals offer secure, low-loss connections, and the RC technology allows fine tweeter level adjustments in 1.5 decibel increments for room- or preference-based optimization.

The cabinet is fully re-engineered for compact enclosures, with rounded edges and a circular baffle to minimize diffraction and improve sound dispersion. Computer-optimized internal bracing and damping reduce resonances and standing waves. The White Matt multi-layer laminate finish is applied with a precise, multi-step process, producing a sophisticated, acoustically neutral appearance. Manufactured in Germany, the Reference 9 White Matt combines compact size with premium construction and high-fidelity sound performance.
