The Genelec 1235A brings the sound and heritage of the iconic 1035 main monitor into the modern recording age. Launched in 1989, the original 1035 became an industry standard, fulfilling the need for a wall-mountable, full-range monitor that could deliver true reference performance at high SPLs and over long listening distances. The 1235A carries that legacy forward with 96kHz processing and full Smart Active Monitoring technology.

A three-way design combines dual 15-inch woofers, dual 5-inch midrange drivers and a 1-inch throat compression tweeter, driven by 2x1000W plus 2x400W plus 250W of dedicated amplification. This configuration delivers a frequency response of 31Hz to 20kHz (±2dB) and a maximum peak acoustic output of 135dB or greater per pair, making it a genuine main monitor for demanding large-room applications.

With outstanding on- and off-axis response and superb directivity, the 1235A delivers a very wide and stable sweet spot that can be trusted by multiple listeners in a large control room. Its rotatable Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) may be oriented for tall or wide monitor placement, and the MDF enclosure is designed for flush-mounting into a wall.

Through tight integration with GLM software, the 1235A can be configured, controlled and calibrated for any acoustic environment, providing a truly optimised listening experience with mixes that translate reliably to other rooms and systems. Its Acoustic Response Editor gives full manual control of acoustic settings, and it is available complete or as a retro-fittable upgrade kit for owners of 1035A or 1035B models.
