The Genelec 7050C is a highly versatile active studio subwoofer built for professionals who demand extended, distortion-free low-end alongside generous SPL and professional bass management. As the newest and most advanced version of the popular 7050 model, it is the ideal partner for Genelec’s 8010, 8020, 8030 and M030 nearfield monitors.
At its core is a single 8-inch (205mm) magnetically shielded low-frequency driver housed in Genelec’s Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE), a radically innovative design that alters how high-level, low-frequency acoustic energy is delivered to a critical listening space, extending response down to 24Hz with impressively low distortion. A 130W Class D amplifier powers the driver to a maximum SPL of 103dB.
Bass management is built directly into the 7050C, with five input and output channels featuring 85Hz low-pass/high-pass filters for stereo or up to 5.1 multichannel systems, plus a dedicated 120Hz LFE input with a selectable +10dB boost, keeping the subwoofer aligned with Genelec’s other professional subwoofer models for film and broadcast post-production standards.
A comprehensive set of rear-panel DIP switches allows the user to adjust subwoofer phase and low-frequency roll-off, engage the +10dB LFE level, and control the sensitivity of the Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) power-saving mode, which reduces standby power consumption to under 0.5W. A universal mains voltage switched-mode power supply ensures worldwide compatibility.
