An 8-inch woofer, fortified by an advanced reflex port design, exhibits low-distortion low-frequency reproduction down to 35Hz, while the 1-inch metal dome tweeter, bolstered by Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), yields flat on- and off-axis response and rock-solid imaging. A 150W bass amplifier and 120W treble amplifier combine for a total of 270W of Class-D power, delivering peak SPL of up to 120dB per stereo pair.

Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) ties the design together, certifying a smooth frequency response, minimal cabinet-edge reflections, and a superbly accurate sound stage. Rear-panel room compensation switches provide high- and low-frequency adjustment, letting engineers adapt the 8050B’s neutral performance to their specific room acoustics.
