The JBL Control 89MS above-ground landscape subwoofer is designed to enhance low-frequency performance in outdoor audio installations, delivering powerful and controlled bass for landscape speaker systems and distributed outdoor sound environments. Engineered as part of the JBL Control 80 Series, this subwoofer integrates seamlessly with outdoor speaker systems used in hospitality venues, retail complexes, resorts, theme parks, sports venues, entranceways, gardens, and landscaped public spaces requiring durable and weather-resistant audio solutions.

The system features a down-firing long-throw 200 mm (8-inch) driver that delivers clean, controlled bass output with peak sound pressure levels reaching 115 dB and low-frequency extension down to 40 Hz. The long-excursion design allows consistent low-frequency performance while maintaining clarity and stability in demanding outdoor environments. The integrated low-pass crossover utilizes a dual-slope filter design, starting with a gentle slope at the crossover frequency and transitioning to a steeper slope at higher frequencies, ensuring smooth and balanced integration with full-range speakers whether driven by a full-range amplifier or a dedicated subwoofer amplifier channel.

A premium-grade dedicated-subwoofer-band multi-tap transformer with tap selector and 8Ω bypass enables flexible system configuration for both 70V and 100V distributed line systems, as well as direct low-impedance operation. This versatility allows the Control 89MS to adapt to a wide range of system designs and installation requirements.

The enclosure is constructed from tough polyethylene with a fully sealed center wiring chamber and carries an IP56 rating for protection against dust and water ingress. Color is molded throughout the cabinet to maintain appearance even when scratched, while stainless steel external hardware and a powder-coated stainless steel grille provide long-term corrosion resistance. The JBL Control 89MS is engineered for reliable outdoor performance, consistent low-frequency output, and long-term durability in exposed environmental conditions.
