The JBL VRX918S 18 in. High Power Flying Subwoofer is engineered as a compact, high-output low-frequency solution for professional line array systems. Designed for suspension and ground-based applications, this front-loaded, vented enclosure provides extended bass performance while maintaining manageable size and weight for touring and fixed installations.

At the core of the system is a JBL 2268H 18-inch Differential Drive woofer featuring a neodymium magnet assembly and patented dual voice coil technology. This design enhances thermal efficiency, increases power handling, and reduces overall system weight while maintaining low distortion and strong transient response. The large port area further minimizes distortion and optimizes airflow, supporting clean and controlled low-frequency reproduction down to 31 Hz.

The enclosure is constructed from 18 mm, 13-ply birch plywood and finished with durable black DuraFlex coating for reliability in demanding environments. A powder-coated 16-gauge perforated steel grille with acoustically transparent foam backing protects internal components while preserving acoustic integrity.

Integral rigging hardware enables straightforward integration with VRX932LA line arrays and optional array frames. The system also supports suspension using compatible hardware and includes a 20 mm threaded pole socket for secure satellite speaker mounting. With high peak output capability and flexible deployment options, the JBL VRX918S is suitable for live performance systems, rental and touring applications, DJ systems, and permanent installations.
