The KEF KW1 wireless subwoofer transmitter and receiver kit provides an alternative signal path between an audio system and a compatible KEF subwoofer. It sends uncompressed 24-bit/48 kHz audio across a wireless link, allowing the bass enclosure to be placed according to the listening layout without requiring a long signal cable across the room.

Selectable 5.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz operation provides two frequency-band options for the connection. The system has a specified latency below 17 milliseconds, supporting close integration between the wireless bass signal and the rest of the audio system. Its stated frequency response extends from 10 Hz to 20 kHz, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 80 dB.

The transmission range is specified as up to 30 metres with a clear line of sight and approximately 15 metres in normal use. These different conditions matter when considering the final subwoofer position, since walls, furniture and the surrounding environment affect the practical wireless path. The transmitter and receiver form a dedicated link for the compatible installation.

The transmitter requires a 5V DC, 1A USB power supply, while the receiver connects through the supported subwoofer's expansion port. The transmitter measures 21.4 × 72 × 79.5 mm, and the receiver measures 27 × 37 × 72 mm. Their compact dimensions make the signal link easy to incorporate alongside the main audio equipment and subwoofer. The KW1 combines defined digital audio performance with placement flexibility for a carefully configured bass system. This allows the subwoofer position to be selected for the room while the transmitter remains close to the source equipment.
