Description
Shure SM58 Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The Shure SM58 is one of the most recognizable and widely trusted vocal microphones in the world. Known for its legendary performance, the SM58 delivers clear, natural, and midrange-focused vocals suitable for live performances, houses of worship, home studios, and professional recording environments. Its tailored frequency response includes a midrange bump and natural bass roll-off, providing vocal clarity with warmth and presence when used close, or a more natural, low-frequency-controlled sound when held slightly away from the source.
Featuring a cardioid polar pattern, the SM58 effectively isolates the main sound source while rejecting off-axis sounds. This reduces stage bleed, monitor mix interference, and background noise, ensuring the performer’s voice is always prominent. A pneumatic shock-mount system minimizes handling noise, letting singers and speakers confidently hold the microphone during performances without unwanted vibrations or audio disturbances.
Built-in pop filtering suppresses plosives and breath noise, while enamel-coated metal construction and a steel-mesh grille make the SM58 extremely durable and resistant to wear and abuse. The microphone does not require phantom power and features a balanced XLR 3-pin output for connection to mixers, stage boxes, or audio interfaces. A break-resistant swivel microphone clip is included for flexible positioning and easy stage setup.
With decades of proven reliability, the Shure SM58 continues to be the workhorse of live vocal performance, combining iconic sound, rugged durability, and professional-quality construction for both stage and studio applications.
