The Reference Sub is a high-performance active subwoofer designed to complement the Canton Reference loudspeaker series with deep, dynamic, and controlled bass reproduction. Engineered as a front-firing subwoofer with an integrated downfire passive cone, it delivers impressive low-frequency output supported by a large cabinet volume and precision tuning. This configuration makes the Reference Sub equally suitable for stereo music systems and demanding home cinema environments.

At the core of the Reference Sub is a powerful 308 mm BCT chassis featuring a black ceramic tungsten cone. This driver is supported by a large passive radiator mounted on the underside of the enclosure, enabling extended bass depth and improved air movement. The driver is suspended using the latest generation of triple-folded wave surrounds, allowing greater excursion while minimizing distortion even at high volume levels. These design elements ensure precise, powerful bass reproduction across a wide dynamic range.

The subwoofer is powered by a high-output digital amplifier delivering up to 750 watts, providing the energy required for demanding bass passages in films and music. Integrated digital signal processors and SC technology allow the Reference Sub to reproduce low frequencies with high accuracy down to 18 hertz. Room compensation technology enables the bass response to be adapted to different acoustic environments through selectable adjustment stages.

The enclosure features a sweeping design that aligns visually with the Reference series while also contributing to acoustic performance. High-quality manufacturing and carefully selected materials ensure structural stability and vibration control. The Reference Sub includes high-level and low-level inputs for flexible system integration, along with adjustable volume, crossover frequency, and phase controls located on the rear active module. An automatic power on and off function completes the technical equipment of this advanced active subwoofer.
