The JBL 708P is a self-powered reference monitor designed for critical music recording, film post-production, and broadcast applications. Leveraging next-generation driver technologies and JBL’s renowned Image Control Waveguide, the 708P delivers exceptional output, extended dynamic range, and highly accurate monitoring across a wide variety of room environments. It produces several times the output of comparably-sized monitors, enabling greater working distances and expansive soundstage reproduction.

Equipped with an 8″ JBL 728G low-frequency transducer featuring patented Differential Drive® and a 2409H high-frequency compression driver with low-mass annular diaphragm, the 708P ensures smooth, detailed response with minimal distortion. Integrated dual 250 W Class-D amplifiers provide dedicated power to each driver, while advanced floating-point DSP offers comprehensive room EQ, user EQ, room delay, and AV sync adjustment. Compact birch plywood enclosures include reinforced top, bottom, and rear mounting points, plus integrated handles and protective steel grilles for safe, versatile installation.

JBL’s patented Image Control Waveguide ensures a wide sweet spot and precise imaging, creating an acoustically seamless transition between low- and high-frequency drivers. Smooth, neutral on- and off-axis response allows accurate monitoring regardless of listening position or room. Analog and AES3 digital connectivity, user-enabled sample rate conversion up to 192 kHz, and HARMAN HiQnet™ integration allow flexible, scalable multi-channel system setups. The 708P is optimized for post-production, mastering, and immersive audio environments where precision and output are critical.
