The JBL 705P is a self-powered reference monitor designed for critical music recording, film post, and broadcast production applications. Leveraging the same patented driver technologies and Image Control Waveguide found in the flagship M2 and the JBL 708P, the 705P delivers exceptional output and extended dynamic range in a compact footprint. Despite its small size, it provides an expansive soundstage and pristine accuracy across a broad range of rooms, enabling professional monitoring at greater listening distances.

The 705P features a 5″ JBL 725G low-frequency driver and a 2409H high-frequency driver with a low-mass annular diaphragm for smooth, detailed response. Integrated dual 250 W Class-D amplifiers provide dedicated power for each driver, while onboard floating-point DSP offers comprehensive room EQ, delay, and AV sync adjustments. The compact birch plywood enclosure is reinforced for safe mounting and includes multiple top, bottom, and rear mounting points, allowing versatile installation in control rooms or immersive audio setups.

JBL’s patented Image Control Waveguide ensures a wide sweet spot and acoustically seamless transition between drivers, producing accurate imaging and a neutral frequency response both on- and off-axis. With analog and AES3 digital connectivity, user-enabled sample rate conversion up to 192 kHz, and HARMAN HiQnet™ integration, the 705P provides flexible, scalable solutions for multi-channel monitoring systems.
