The Allen & Heath GR4 is a professional installation-grade audio mixer designed for multi-zone sound distribution in commercial and hospitality environments. It provides flexible control of microphones and background music sources across four independent zones, making it ideal for restaurants, retail spaces, bars, and leisure facilities where clear and controlled audio distribution is required.

The mixer includes four rear-panel mic inputs via Phoenix connectors, with Mic 1 optionally available on a front-panel XLR input for easy access. It also supports four stereo RCA input pairs for music playback devices, providing flexible integration with external audio sources such as media players and streaming systems.

The GR4 features dedicated zone outputs for multi-room audio management. Zones 1 and 2 are stereo by default but can be configured as mono via internal jumpers, while zones 3 and 4 provide additional mono outputs with selectable routing. This allows precise control of audio distribution across multiple areas within a venue.

Each microphone input includes gain control and 2-band EQ for tonal shaping, while zones 1 and 2 include additional 2-band EQ for output adjustment. This ensures clear speech intelligibility for paging and announcements while maintaining balanced background music across all zones.

Advanced operational modes such as Primary Mic Mode, Emergency Mic Mode, and Juke Box Mode allow automated priority handling of announcements and emergency signals. These features ensure that critical messages override background music when required, making the system suitable for safety-critical environments.

Additional functionality includes programmable ducking behavior, hold and release times, and crossfade control for smooth transitions between audio sources. The optional PL-14 remote control provides zone-level volume and source selection over Cat5e cabling, offering flexible remote operation in distributed installations.

Designed for reliability and ease of installation, the GR4 includes rack ears, Phoenix connectors, and compact chassis construction, making it suitable for both rackmount and desktop deployment in professional audio systems.
