The Bose ShowMatch SMS118 is a subwoofer module purpose-built to integrate with ShowMatch DeltaQ array loudspeakers, extending low-frequency response down to 29Hz for theatres, performance venues, auditoriums and houses of worship. At its core is a Bose LF18 neodymium 18 inch, high-excursion driver with a 4.5 inch voice coil, delivering 750W RMS power handling and 3000W peak in a Baltic-birch enclosure engineered for portable and installed use alike.

DeltaQ technology allows directivity, or ‘Q’, to vary with each module in an array, giving more consistent coverage over a wide frequency range, reduced array weight and cost, and outstanding vocal clarity compared to fixed-directivity designs. This same design philosophy extends to the SMS118, which is designed as a companion sub for both mixed mid/high and dedicated subwoofer ShowMatch arrays.

Integrated 4-point quick-pin rigging allows arrays of up to 18 subwoofers to be flown with a 10:1 safety factor, while a front-grill mounted NL4 input, plus rear NL4 inputs, gives installers a straightforward way to wire ‘reversed box’ cardioid arrays for directional bass control that reduces stage bleed and rear-firing energy. The enclosure width and integrated rigging are designed for fast integration alongside ShowMatch full-range modules using the optional array frame and pull-back accessories.

The portable-rated enclosure also includes an integrated mounting-pole adapter, letting the SMS118 double as a ground-stack base for other mid/high loudspeakers when not flown as part of an array. This flexibility makes the SMS118 a practical low-frequency companion for touring productions and permanent installations alike that already use the ShowMatch DeltaQ array platform.
