The Genelec 4020C installation speaker has been designed for challenging commercial installations, particularly those compromised by lack of space. Sharing the same superior acoustic design as Genelec’s 8000 Series monitors, the compact and stylish 4020C provides precise, intelligible sound quality in even the most difficult acoustic environments.
A 4-inch woofer and 3/4-inch metal dome tweeter are driven by 100W of Class-D amplification, producing a frequency response of 62Hz to 20kHz with a maximum SPL of 107dB. Controlled directivity, delivered through Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) integrated into the aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure, allows the system to be installed across many acoustic environments while providing outstanding sound coverage.
As a fully active loudspeaker, the 4020C contains drivers, power amplifiers, active crossover filters and protection circuitry in a single unit. It features Genelec’s Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) circuitry, which switches the loudspeaker to standby when no audio input is detected, complying with ErP 2013 Directive power-saving requirements.
Mounting is flexible: a 3/8-inch UNC threaded hole on the base is compatible with a standard microphone stand, while two M6x10mm threaded holes on the rear accept OmniMount size 20.5 brackets or the included keyhole wall mount adapter. The rear panel includes a balanced analogue Euroblock input and DIP switches for adjusting tonal balance to the installation environment. The raw finish leaves the natural cast aluminium surface exposed for an industrial aesthetic.
