If you love the compact format of the Genelec 8010 and 8020 models but demand higher SPL and more bass extension, the 8030C sits in the perfect sweet spot of big monitor performance and small footprint. It offers precise imaging and staggering detail, while going louder and lower than its smaller siblings, making it ideal for slightly larger spaces.
A 5-inch (130mm) woofer, fortified by an advanced reflex port design, exhibits low-distortion low-frequency reproduction down to 54Hz, while the 3/4-inch (19mm) metal dome tweeter, bolstered by Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), yields flat on- and off-axis response and rock-solid imaging. Dedicated 50W Class-D amplifiers power each driver, delivering a frequency response of 47Hz to 25kHz and a maximum SPL of 104dB.
The trademark rounded cabinet design of the 8030C, built from die-cast aluminium using Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) technology, delivers uncoloured reference performance both on and off axis, while rear-panel room compensation switches let engineers optimise the 8030C for their individual room acoustics.
Designed without a volume control so that signal level is set at the source, the 8030C includes an input sensitivity adjustment on the rear panel for level matching. Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology reduces power consumption to less than 0.5W in standby, and the included Iso-Pod stand provides vibration decoupling, making the 8030C well suited to near-field monitoring, broadcast control rooms, surround systems and home studios.
