Description
KEF KW2 Wireless Subwoofer Receiver
The KEF KW2 wireless subwoofer receiver adds a wireless bass connection to a KEF XIO system. It receives uncompressed 24-bit/48 kHz audio over a 2.4 GHz link, allowing a compatible subwoofer to be positioned away from the soundbar without running a signal cable between them. The receiver is designed specifically around XIO integration.
Compatible KEF models include KC62, KC92, KF92 and Kube subwoofers. A proprietary four-pin connection supports the dedicated KEF arrangement, while 3.5 mm analogue and Toslink optical outputs provide connection options for suitable third-party subwoofers. The available outputs make it possible to match the receiver to the input type used by the chosen bass component.
The specified wireless range is 15 metres with a clear line of sight. Audio performance includes a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB and total harmonic distortion below 0.2 percent. The stated latency is 57 milliseconds, providing a defined timing characteristic for the XIO wireless subwoofer connection.
The receiver measures 72 × 37 × 31 mm and weighs 50 g, keeping the device compact beside the subwoofer. USB-C power is used when the installation requires an external supply, including the third-party subwoofer arrangement, with a specified 5V, 2A input. Supplied connection accessories include USB-C, optical and 3.5 mm-to-RCA cables. These options let the KW2 act as a small, dedicated interface between XIO and the selected subwoofer. The choice of output connections also keeps the wireless link separate from the subwoofer input format, supporting several compatible bass components within the same XIO arrangement.
