The Canton Reference 3 is a high-performance 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed to deliver accurate, distortion-free sound with a natural spatial presentation. Its edge-free, curved cabinet design ensures both a modern appearance and optimal acoustic performance. The cabinet’s sweeping form conceals large internal volumes while providing ideal conditions for dynamic and precise sound reproduction.

The speaker employs Black Ceramic Tungsten (BCT) diaphragms for the midrange and woofers. In these diaphragms, 25% of the aluminum molecular structure is converted into ceramic and reinforced with tungsten and additional metal particles, creating a perfect stiffness-to-weight ratio and minimizing resonance. The midrange driver uses TCC technology, further stabilizing the diaphragm for distortion-free performance. Low frequencies are enhanced by the latest-generation bass guide, which allows flexible speaker placement and even bass distribution in medium-sized rooms.

Reference 3’s high-quality components ensure seamless integration of its four drivers. Two 192 mm woofers produce deep bass down to 20 Hz, while a 174 mm midrange driver ensures accurate voice reproduction and broad dispersion. The 25 mm tweeter with black aluminum oxide ceramic dome provides detailed, transparent highs. Drivers are mounted flush with the rounded baffle and surrounded by asymmetrical waveguide rings (POM) that optimize treble and midrange dispersion. Acoustically neutral magnetic fabric covers protect the drivers without impacting performance.

The cabinets are made from multi-layer laminate for maximum rigidity and undergo extensive finishing. The Piano Black version features twelve layers of high-gloss lacquer, polished to create a deep visual effect. White Satin finishes provide a clean, contemporary alternative while maintaining acoustic neutrality. WBT Nextgen binding posts support single, bi-wiring, and bi-amping connections, and copper bridges are included for simplified setup.
