The Canton Reference 2 is an impressive 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed to deliver uncompromising sound performance even in large rooms. Smaller than the flagship Reference model, it is ideal for reference-level stereo reproduction and home theater setups. Combining advanced technology with elegant design, it achieves both visual and acoustic excellence.

Its acoustically optimized cabinet features a seamless, edge-free construction that follows modern acoustic principles. The multi-layer laminate panels, internal bracing, and sophisticated damping provide low-resonance performance and structural stability. The enclosure houses a three-chamber system tailored to the different frequency ranges of the 3-way design, ensuring each driver achieves maximum efficiency.

Low frequencies are reproduced by a double bass configuration with two 219 mm BCT woofers, enhanced by the latest-generation bass guide for powerful and stable bass response. The 174 mm midrange driver, positioned near the top of the cabinet, reproduces voices and instruments with authenticity and presence. High frequencies are handled by a 25 mm black alumina ceramic tweeter, providing precise and detailed treble performance. All drivers are flush-mounted in a rounded baffle and complemented by three-dimensional asymmetric waveguide (ASW) rings made of POM material for optimal dispersion.

The Reference 2’s high-precision crossovers use epoxy-glass composite materials with 70 µm copper coating, reducing interference and ensuring accurate signal distribution. WBT Nextgen terminals and gold-plated copper bridges allow single, bi-wiring, and bi-amping operation while reducing eddy currents for improved sound clarity. Integrated room compensation enables fine-level adjustment of the midrange and tweeter in 1.5 dB steps for room-specific tuning.

Finished with Walnut Matt veneer using a fine sanding and matte lacquer treatment, the Reference 2 combines aesthetic elegance with precise German craftsmanship, delivering both visual and acoustic refinement.
