The JBL AW266 is a high-power, lightweight, 2-way full-range loudspeaker engineered for reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions. Designed as part of JBL’s AE Series, this loudspeaker combines robust construction with advanced transducer technology to deliver clear, high-output sound for professional installations. It features a JBL 2262H 300 mm (12 in) Differential Drive® low-frequency driver with a 75 mm (3 in) dual voice coil and dual magnetic gap structure, ensuring high efficiency, reduced power compression, and extended low-frequency performance.
High-frequency reproduction is handled by the JBL 2432H compression driver with a 38 mm (1.5 in) exit and a 75 mm (3 in) voice coil, providing detailed and controlled high-frequency response. A large Progressive Transition™ waveguide delivers consistent 60° x 60° coverage, allowing uniform sound distribution across wide listening areas. The system can be installed in either vertical or horizontal orientation, offering flexibility for various mounting requirements.
The enclosure is constructed from hand-laminated multilayer fiberglass with extensive internal bracing to maximize low-frequency output and structural integrity. A durable gray gelcoat finish enhances resistance to moisture, UV exposure, and physical wear. Protection is further reinforced by a three-layer stainless steel grille system backed with open-cell foam and stainless steel mesh.
The AW266 includes an integrated 400 W 70/100V transformer and a heavy-duty weather-treated U-type mounting bracket for straightforward installation on flat surfaces or corner placements.
