The JBL Control 30 is a powerful three-way speaker designed for both indoor and outdoor use, delivering high-fidelity audio with extended bandwidth and well-defined coverage. Its compact design integrates high-power components, computer-optimized horns, coaxial component placement, and a complex network to produce smooth sound across a wide range of applications including retail, hospitality, leisure venues, and outdoor performance areas.
This speaker features a 250 mm (10 in) fiberglass/Kevlar woofer with a neodymium magnet for low frequencies, a 125 mm (5 in) anodized aluminum midrange driver with EPDM surround, and a 25 mm (1 in) titanium compression driver for high frequencies. The combination provides full-range sound with a frequency response of 38 Hz – 17 kHz (-10 dB) and a sensitivity of 93 dB, reaching a maximum SPL of 123 dB at 1 meter. Its 120° horizontal x 110° vertical coverage ensures even sound distribution in a variety of environments.
The Control 30 is fully outdoor-capable with WeatherMax™ protection and an IEC IP-X5 rating, exceeding MilSpec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV exposure. It includes SonicGuard® overload protection, a sealed input panel cover, screw-down terminals, and the InvisiBall mounting system for flexible installation, with optional U-bracket and ceiling-mount adapters available. The grille is made from thermoset composite-coated steel with WeatherMax multi-layer foam for durability. This speaker is made in China.
