The JBL 705i is part of JBL’s 7 Series install line, developed to meet the evolving demands of multi-channel monitoring in post-production studios, broadcast facilities, and mobile production trucks. Designed for centrally amplified systems, the 705i combines compact form factor with advanced acoustic performance, making it ideal for immersive audio formats and scalable installations.

Drawing from technologies pioneered in JBL’s flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor, the 705i incorporates patented Image Control Waveguide technology and next-generation driver engineering. This combination ensures detailed imaging, neutral frequency balance, and consistent performance across listening positions and room environments. The seamless transition between drivers enhances dialog clarity and maintains tonal accuracy across screen channels, surrounds, and overhead speakers.

The monitor features a 2409H high-frequency compression driver with a lightweight annular diaphragm capable of extended high-frequency response and low distortion. Complementing it is the custom 725G 5-inch high-excursion low-frequency driver, designed for sustained output with minimal power compression and controlled bass extension into the lower frequency range.

Built with reinforced birch plywood, the 705i enclosure supports flexible mounting options through top, bottom, and rear mounting points. Designed for centralized amplification and DSP processing, the system eliminates the need for power at each speaker location, streamlining installation and reducing system complexity in professional control rooms and broadcast setups.
