Drawing from technologies pioneered in the JBL M2 Master Reference Monitor, the 708i incorporates JBL’s patented Image Control Waveguide and next-generation driver design. This combination ensures accurate dialog reproduction, seamless crossover performance, and neutral off-axis response for consistent monitoring across various listening positions and rooms. The result is precise imaging and a coherent transition between screen channels, surrounds, and overhead speakers in immersive setups.

The monitor features JBL’s advanced 2409H high-frequency transducer with a low-mass annular diaphragm, capable of delivering smooth response beyond 40 kHz with low distortion. Its custom 728G 8-inch high-excursion low-frequency driver provides extended bass performance into the 30 Hz range while maintaining high output with minimal power compression.

Engineered for centralized amplification and system tuning, the 708i eliminates the need for local power at each speaker position. It integrates seamlessly with BSS BLU link networked audio systems and HARMAN HiQnet control platforms, enabling scalable, remotely managed monitoring systems. The reinforced birch plywood cabinet includes multiple mounting points for flexible installation in professional environments.
