Soundcraft Vi BLU Link Active Breakout Box

The Soundcraft Vi BOB, or Blu Link Active Breakout Box, is a local I/O expansion unit that connects to Vi Series digital mixing systems using BSS Audio’s BLU Link digital audio networking protocol. It provides additional analog input and output connectivity at a location convenient to the equipment rack, rather than requiring every connection to run directly to the main console or stagebox.

As an active device, the Vi BOB performs analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion locally, transporting audio to and from the rest of the Vi system over the BLU Link network. This allows system designers to place additional I/O exactly where it is needed, such as near amplifiers, playback sources, or peripheral processing equipment, without long analog cable runs back to the console.

BLU Link connectivity also allows the breakout box to integrate with other BSS and Soundcraft networked audio products, extending the flexibility of a Vi Series installation as system requirements grow or change over time.

The Vi BOB is intended as an accessory for Vi Series systems that need distributed local I/O, complementing the console, local rack, and stagebox hardware already in use.
