The Bose Professional PowerMatch AmpLink 24-Channel Input Card is a digital expansion card designed for compatible PowerMatch configurable power amplifiers, giving them a direct, simplified way to receive multichannel digital audio from a Bose Professional DSP. It is intended for installations where a processor and one or more amplifiers are co-located in the same rack or room.
The card installs into the amplifier’s digital expansion slot and receives up to 24 digital audio channels over a single shielded Cat 5 cable from a Bose AmpLink-equipped DSP, at 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution. This significantly reduces the analog wiring that would otherwise be needed to connect a processor’s outputs to an amplifier’s inputs channel by channel.
A THRU connection on the card supports daisy-chaining, allowing any combination of AmpLink-equipped PowerMatch amplifiers to be linked together and share the same 24 channels of digital audio from the source DSP. Up to eight amplifiers can be chained in this way, streamlining large multi-amplifier installations considerably.
Because the card uses standard EIA/TIA 568B shielded Cat 5 cabling and two RJ-45 quick-connect ports, installation is straightforward for technicians already familiar with structured cabling practices, and the resulting system benefits from lower cabling complexity and reduced potential for wiring errors compared to fully analog amplifier feeds.
