The Soundweb Contrio EC-8BV is an Ethernet wall controller for use within Harman HiQnet systems. It can control and monitor parameters within BSS Audio Soundweb London and other HiQnet-enabled devices, including Crown DCi series amplifiers, making it a flexible front-of-room control point for a wide range of installed sound applications.

The EC-8BV is configured through simple drag-and-drop operations within the HiQnet Audio Architect software application, allowing parameters such as volume, source selection, and preset recall to be mapped to the controller’s 8 buttons, a push/rotary encoder, and an encoder ring. This lets integrators tailor the exact function of every control to match the needs of the room it serves.

The controller includes 2 LCD screens alongside its control surface, which is multi-color backlit and capable of eight different colors with adjustable intensity. This allows the display to show custom text labels or reflect a binary parameter state, such as red and green for muted and unmuted status, giving users immediate visual feedback.

The push/rotary encoder can be rotated for continuous parameter control such as volume, and pressed for binary functions such as mute. Multiple modes of operation allow the encoder and encoder ring to be dynamically reassigned to different parameters depending on which button is currently selected, extending the functionality available from a compact wall plate.

The EC-8BV is available in black finish and connects via a single Ethernet port that supplies configuration, control, monitoring, and Power over Ethernet in one cable, simplifying installation in both new-build and retrofit projects. It is available in single-gang US Decora or EU mounting formats, and its low-noise electronics are designed for reliable long-term use in professional AV environments.
