RCF BM 404 Four-Zone Desktop Paging Console

The RCF BM 404 is a desktop paging console designed for selective calls to four zones in a compatible Business Music system. It combines a microphone and zone controls in one compact base, giving the operator a dedicated position for announcements. RCF specifies operation with DMA 82 and DMA 162 amplifiers.

A high-quality electret microphone sits on a 230 mm gooseneck and is supplied with a polyurethane foam windscreen. The microphone has a hypercardioid pickup pattern and a specified frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz. The flexible positioning arrangement helps place the microphone appropriately for speech at the desktop.

Dedicated buttons with LEDs handle microphone activation and zone selection. General and selective calling are supported, allowing an announcement to address the intended listening areas. The chime tone can be enabled or disabled with a switch, providing a simple choice about the attention signal used before a spoken message.

Up to four consoles can be connected in an interlocked daisy chain to each amplifier using CAT5 cabling. The supplied connection cable is 5 m long, and an external power supply is included. RJ45 connections form the interface for the console arrangement, while interlocking manages operation within the connected paging chain.

The shock-resistant polymeric body has a black RAL 9005 finish. The base measures 40 mm high, 181 mm wide and 89 mm deep and weighs 0.45 kg. The console is supplied ready for use without configuration, offering a defined paging interface for compatible installations that need straightforward zone selection and microphone access.
