The Soundcraft Si Expression 2 is a digital live sound console from the Si Expression range, which shares an identical feature set across its three frame sizes and differs only in the number of onboard faders and microphone preamps. The Si Expression 2 provides 24 recallable microphone preamps plus four line inputs, four internal stereo FX returns, and an AES digital input, giving every model in the range access to up to 66 processing channels.

Every input processing channel includes a dedicated high-pass filter, input delay, gate, compressor, and four-band parametric EQ, while a comprehensive automation system with mute groups and Soundcraft’s FaderGlow illuminated faders keeps the mix organized during fast-moving live shows. A 64×64 expansion slot accepts ViSi Connect option cards, including MADI, Dante, CAT5 or optical MADI, BLU Link, Aviom A-Net, and CobraNet, for seamless integration with stageboxes and other system components.

Because the effects are hardware based, running all four onboard stereo Lexicon effects engines simultaneously does not reduce the processing available for dynamics, EQ, filters, delays, or graphic equalizers elsewhere in the console. Connecting a Soundcraft Mini Stagebox 16 or 32 increases the total number of channels available to mix well beyond the console’s own local input count.

With a color touchscreen, dedicated controls for every parameter, and iPad control via ViSi Remote, the Si Expression 2 is designed to feel as immediate as an analogue console while offering the recallability and routing flexibility of a full digital platform, making it well suited to touring, corporate AV, and installed live sound applications.
