The BIXOLON XD5-40t is a rugged and versatile 4-inch (118 mm) mid-level thermal transfer desktop label printer designed for industrial, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail environments. With a compact clamshell design and tool-less maintenance, the XD5-40t provides efficient, high-quality label and barcode printing while minimizing downtime.
Available in 203 dpi (XD5-40t) and 300 dpi (XD5-43t) resolutions, the printer delivers fast print speeds of up to 6 ips (152 mm/sec), with enhanced memory of up to 256 MB SDRAM and 256 MB Flash for large-scale printing jobs. Its side-loading media and ribbon path supports 1/2-inch and 1-inch core ribbons (74 m and 300 m) with adjustable media guides and Smart Media Detection™ for Gap, Black Mark, Continuous, or Notch media formats. Optional field-installable Peeler, Auto Cutter, and external paper supply provide flexibility for diverse labeling needs.
Connectivity options include dual USB 2.0, USB Host, optional dual WLAN, dual Bluetooth V5.0 (MFi certified), Serial, and Ethernet, while the USB Host port allows duplication of printer settings across multiple devices via Twin Function™. The printer is fully compatible with market-leading programming languages, including SLCS™, BPL-Z™, BPL-E™, and BPL-D™, and supports a comprehensive suite of software and SDKs including BIXOLON’s Label Artist™, BarTender®, XPM™, XCM™, and Android/iOS SDKs for seamless integration into modern workflows.
The XD5-40t also features UHF RFID print and encode capabilities, with a minimum inlay pitch of 16 mm, making it suitable for asset tracking, price management, and industrial labeling applications requiring precise and durable output. Its optional mono LCD display, compact clamshell design, and intuitive menu buttons ensure simple operation in demanding environments.
