The dbx ZonePRO 640 is a professional digital signal processor engineered to provide advanced audio routing, comprehensive DSP processing, and flexible system control for commercial audio installations. Featuring six inputs and four outputs, the processor is designed for hospitality venues, retail environments, educational facilities, conference centers, houses of worship, and other installed sound applications requiring reliable multi-zone audio management. Its combination of professional-grade signal processing and intuitive control capabilities enables system designers to build scalable and high-performance commercial audio solutions.
The processor supports both professional and consumer audio sources through switchable microphone and line inputs alongside RCA source inputs. Extensive input processing includes gain adjustment, parametric equalization, noise gating, de-essing, automatic gain control, compression, and Advanced Feedback Suppression (AFS™), providing exceptional speech clarity and stable system operation. The integrated routing engine supports primary source selection, paging source ducking, and priority override, allowing efficient management of multiple audio sources across independent zones while maintaining seamless operation.
Each output incorporates advanced optimization tools including parametric EQ, bandpass and crossover filters, limiting, delay, and the patented AutoWarmth® technology developed with JBL to maintain natural low-frequency response at reduced playback levels. The processor also supports wall panel controllers, RS-232 communication, programmable scheduling through the built-in real-time clock, and system configuration using ZonePRO Designer software with its guided setup wizard. High-performance dbx Type IV™ conversion, wide dynamic range, and low distortion ensure excellent audio quality throughout the signal path. The dbx ZonePRO 640 delivers a complete commercial audio processing solution with flexible connectivity, powerful DSP, and dependable system control.
