Description
BSS Soundweb London BLU-50 4×4 signal processor with BLU link (EU)
The Soundweb London BLU-50 is a half-rack width processor offering a fixed configuration of four analog inputs and four analog outputs, combined with configurable signal processing, logic processing, and BLU link networked audio connectivity. Its compact footprint makes it well suited to smaller conference rooms, huddle spaces, and retail environments where a full-size rack unit is impractical.
Analog inputs on the BLU-50 provide software-configurable gain in 6 dB steps up to +48 dB per channel, along with software-selectable phantom power per channel for direct connection of condenser microphones. Phantom power, signal present, and clip status for every channel are shown directly on clear front-panel LED indicators, giving installers an at-a-glance view of channel status without needing to connect a laptop.
The BLU-50 features BLU link, a low-latency, fault-tolerant 48-channel digital audio bus that runs over standard Category 5e cabling at distances of up to 100 meters between compatible devices, extendable beyond 10 kilometers using single mode fiber media converters. Its 48-channel bus represents channels 1-48 of the larger 256-channel BLU link bus when integrated with devices such as the BLU-800, BLU-320, BLU-160, BLU-120, BLU-BIB, and BLU-BOB.
The processor can be powered by its included 12VDC power supply, or via 12-48VDC through a terminal block connector, giving installers flexibility for centralized or local powering schemes. Configuration and control are handled through HiQnet Audio Architect, and 12 Control Inputs, 6 Logic Outputs, and an RS-232 port allow the BLU-50 to be integrated with a wide range of third-party control systems.
