The JBL CBT 1000 is a next-generation adjustable-coverage line array column loudspeaker engineered to deliver unmatched pattern control, acoustic precision, and room-matched sound distribution in demanding architectural environments. Built on JBL’s advanced Constant Beamwidth Technology™, the CBT 1000 utilizes complex analog delay beam-forming and amplitude tapering to achieve highly consistent vertical coverage while eliminating the uneven beaming, coverage gaps, and off-axis lobing typical of conventional column speaker systems.

This high-performance system features twenty-four 25 mm (1 in) extra-high-power soft dome tweeters and six 165 mm (6.5 in) high-excursion low-frequency drivers arranged coaxially for maximum acoustic coherence and output efficiency. The vertically asymmetrical dispersion design directs greater acoustic energy toward the rear listening areas, ensuring balanced front-to-back sound levels throughout the space.

A defining innovation of the CBT 1000 is its fully adjustable vertical pattern control system. The speaker provides four “Pattern Up” angles and four “Pattern Down” angles, creating sixteen unique vertical coverage combinations without the need for external DSP processing. This allows precise acoustic mapping of the sound field to match room geometry, seating layouts, and architectural constraints.

The patented Tapered Horizontal Waveguide further enhances performance by delivering continuously variable horizontal dispersion—wider for short-throw coverage and narrower for long-throw projection—ensuring consistent sound distribution across both near and far listening zones.

With high SPL capability, deep bass extension below 40 Hz, and selectable voicing modes for music or speech optimization, the CBT 1000 is designed for large venues such as auditoriums, houses of worship, convention centers, transport hubs, sports facilities, and performance halls. The fiberglass-reinforced ABS enclosure, aluminum grille, IP55 environmental protection (with optional cover), and precision mounting system make it suitable for both indoor and protected outdoor installations where acoustic accuracy and reliability are critical.
