JBL CBT 50LA-1 column loudspeaker
The JBL CBT 50LA-1 column loudspeaker features innovative Constant Beamwidth Technology™ for precise and consistent vertical coverage. Using analog delay beam-forming and amplitude tapering, it avoids the narrow vertical beaming and out-of-coverage lobing typical of conventional passive column speakers. This ensures clear, intelligible sound across the entire listening area for both speech and music applications.
Equipped with eight 50 mm (2 in) full-range drivers, the CBT 50LA-1 provides wide horizontal dispersion and controlled vertical coverage, making it ideal for conference rooms, lecture halls, houses of worship, retail environments, and other professional audio installations. Switchable voicing allows the speaker to be optimized for flat music response or mid-range presence for speech, offering versatile performance for diverse applications.
The speaker includes a built-in 70V/100V transformer while also supporting 8-ohm direct operation. Dynamic SonicGuard™ protection safeguards the drivers from overload, ensuring reliable long-term operation. Its fiberglass-reinforced ABS cabinet and painted aluminum grille provide durability, while IP55 rating and optional protective covers allow safe use in outdoor or semi-exposed installations. The included swivel (pan) / tilt wall bracket provides flexible aiming, and ten M6 insert points on the back panel allow additional mounting or suspension options.
