JBL CBT 70J-1 column loudspeaker
The JBL CBT 70J-1 column loudspeaker with Constant Beamwidth Technology™ provides advanced pattern control for uniform vertical sound distribution, avoiding the narrow vertical beaming and out-of-coverage lobing common in traditional column speakers. Its asymmetrical vertical coverage directs more sound toward the far area of the room, creating a consistent front-to-back listening experience.
This two-way line array features sixteen 25 mm (1 in) soft dome high-frequency drivers and four 125 mm (5 in) high-power low-frequency drivers arranged coaxially, maximizing radiating area and providing high-quality speech and music reproduction. Vertical coverage is switchable between 25° (long-throw) and 45° (medium-throw), allowing customization for different room sizes and applications.
Switchable voicing provides either a flat response for music or a mid-range presence boost for speech, while Dynamic SonicGuard™ protects the high-frequency devices from overload. The speaker includes a swivel (pan)/tilt wall bracket and ten M6 back panel insert points for flexible installation or suspension. The fiberglass-reinforced ABS cabinet with painted aluminum grille is durable, IP55-rated, and suitable for semi-exposed outdoor use with optional MTC-PC2 panel cover. The CBT 70J-1 is ideal for lecture halls, conference rooms, transit spaces, and other venues requiring precise, high-output sound coverage.
