The JBL CBT 70JE-1 white extension is specially designed to complement the CBT 70J-1 line array column speaker, providing enhanced low-frequency response, greater output levels, and improved vertical pattern control. When paired with the CBT 70J-1, the system utilizes Constant Beamwidth Technology™, ensuring consistent vertical coverage while avoiding the narrow vertical beaming and out-of-coverage lobing common in passive column speakers.

This extension features eight 130 mm (5 in) high-power low-frequency drivers and sixteen 25 mm (1 in) soft dome high-frequency drivers, arranged for optimal dispersion and pattern control. The vertical coverage is switchable between 25° for long-throw and 45° for medium-throw applications, delivering consistent sound from front to back. Switchable voicing allows either flat response for music or a mid-range boost for speech.

The unit includes a built-in crossover network specifically designed for integration with the CBT 70J-1, and a coupler plate secures the extension to the main column. Constructed from fiberglass-reinforced ABS with a painted aluminum grille, the CBT 70JE-1 white extension is IP55-rated with the optional MTC-PC2 panel cover, making it suitable for professional indoor and outdoor installations. Mounting is flexible using the included coupler plate, the swivel (pan)/tilt wall bracket from the CBT 70J-1, or additional M6 threaded insert points for suspension or third-party brackets.
