JBL Intellivox DS430 Active Column Loudspeaker

The JBL Intellivox DS430 Active Column Loudspeaker is the second tallest in Duran Audio’s fully integrated digitally controlled loudspeaker arrays. It is capable of maintaining an even sound pressure level over distances up to 50 meters, with array length providing long-throw capability and enhanced low-frequency control for highly reverberant spaces. The system features seventeen custom-designed 4-inch loudspeakers, driven by a sixteen-channel class-D amplifier with a sophisticated switched-mode power supply, all arranged according to JBL’s patented algorithm to ensure consistent and reliable performance.

Designed to meet the stringent requirements of Voice Alarm (life safety) applications, the DS430 integrates extensive surveillance functions. Users can control beam steering parameters, audio processing, presets, and surveillance features through JBL’s proprietary WinControl software. The array’s increased low-frequency control and compact length allow easy and unobtrusive installation even in architecturally sensitive environments. The system’s low-frequency response can also be extended with a JBL subwoofer for full-range performance.

The DS430 features vertical beam shaping via DDS Technology, wide horizontal dispersion, 32-bit floating point DSP, dual line inputs, volume control, delay, eight-band parametric EQ, and eight user-definable password-protected presets. Additional features include automatic volume control via a built-in ambient microphone, network readiness, upgradeable firmware, and simulation compatibility with DDA, Catt-Acoustic, Odeon, and EASE4.3. It is suitable for transport hubs, large places of worship, lecture halls, theatres, large conference facilities, atriums, and museums where long-throw performance and clarity are essential.
