The Lexicon PCM92 is a single rack space stereo reverb and effects processor built on the legendary design lineage of the PCM81 and PCM91, combined with technology developed for the PCM96. It delivers 28 new and classic Lexicon reverb, delay, and modulation algorithms, making it equally suited to front-of-house live sound racks and recording studio outboard chains where a reference-quality reverberation sound is required.

Multi-mode filters are placed at several points in the signal path, giving engineers precise control over the tonal shaping of each reverb while retaining the distinctive Lexicon character that has defined studio reverb for decades. Every reverb algorithm includes an Infinite mode that lets the decay sustain indefinitely, useful for creating atmospheric beds and sound design textures for both music and post-production work.

The PCM92 includes a Room algorithm that allows reflection patterns to be selected, scaled, and equalized while audio continues to pass through the unit, and these patterns can be reversed or layered with a traditional reverb tail to extend decay time or add a stronger sense of space. Over 1200 finely-crafted factory presets, drawn from Lexicon’s extensive sound library, provide an immediate starting point for a wide range of applications.

Connectivity includes two channels of balanced analog I/O, two channels of AES/EBU digital I/O, MIDI, word clock, and Ethernet for configuration and control through HiQnet System Architect software. Foot controller inputs allow presets and parameters to be changed hands-free during live performance, and the unit operates at sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz with 32-bit floating point processing throughout the signal chain.
