The JBL Intellivox DS500 Active Column Loudspeaker is the flagship of the slim line Intellivox DDS range, installed in high-profile projects worldwide. It provides superior speech intelligibility in highly reverberant environments, with an acoustic length exceeding 4 meters, offering long-throw capability and enhanced control at lower frequencies. The system features thirty-two custom-designed 4-inch loudspeakers driven by a sixteen-channel class-D amplifier with a sophisticated switched-mode power supply, all arranged according to JBL’s patented algorithm to ensure reliable, consistent performance over time.

Designed for life safety compliance, the DS500 incorporates extensive surveillance functions. Users can control beam steering parameters, audio processing, and presets via JBL’s proprietary WinControl software. Its low-mid frequency control and slim, unobtrusive design make it suitable for very large, highly reverberant, and architecturally sensitive spaces. The system’s low-frequency response can be extended using a JBL subwoofer for full-range coverage.

Equipped with vertical beam shaping using DDS Technology, wide horizontal dispersion, 32-bit floating point DSP, dual line inputs, volume control, delay, eight-band parametric EQ, and eight user-definable password-protected presets, the DS500 ensures precise and reliable sound reinforcement.
