The Audinate Dante AVIO 2×2 USB I/O Adapter connects a Windows or Mac computer to a Dante audio network, providing two-channel input and two-channel output for bidirectional computer audio. It is designed for applications such as playback, recording, conferencing, streaming, and digital audio workstation workflows where a computer needs direct access to networked audio without a dedicated Dante PCIe interface.

The adapter uses a class-compliant USB 2.0 connection, allowing compatible computers to communicate with the Dante network without requiring proprietary audio drivers. Audio operates at 48 kHz with 24-bit resolution, providing a straightforward format for common professional computer audio applications. The 2×2 architecture supports simultaneous stereo recording and playback, making it useful for both sending computer audio into a Dante system and capturing network audio back to the computer.

Network communication uses an RJ45 connection and supports Dante Audio over IP and AES67 RTP transport. Power can be supplied through Class 1 802.3af Power over Ethernet or USB, giving integrators flexibility when connecting the adapter to different network and workstation environments. Dante device latency is selectable at 1, 2, or 5 ms through Dante Controller.

The compact AVIO enclosure is suitable for installed systems, temporary setups, meeting rooms, education, hospitality, broadcast, live production, and other applications requiring computer-to-Dante connectivity. Automatic Dante discovery and class-compliant USB operation simplify deployment, while the combination of network and USB power options helps reduce the need for additional hardware around the workstation.
