The Bose Professional ControlSpace EX-1280 is a robust, single-rack-unit digital signal processor built for general-purpose professional audio applications. Its open-architecture design gives system integrators the flexibility to configure the unit for a wide range of installed sound projects, from paging and background music to more complex distributed audio systems.
The processor offers twelve mic/line analog inputs and eight analog outputs, providing ample connectivity for microphones, playback sources, and zoned loudspeaker outputs within a single chassis. A Bose AmpLink output adds eight channels of uncompressed, low-latency digital audio for direct connection to AmpLink-equipped amplifiers, streamlining the signal chain between processor and power amplification.
Dante audio networking support extends the EX-1280’s reach considerably, offering 64×64 channels of connectivity for integration with other Dante-enabled microphones, amplifiers, mixers, and endpoints across a facility. A USB connection also allows straightforward integration with PC-based audio sources, useful for background music playback or diagnostic purposes.
Configuration and day-to-day control are handled through ControlSpace Designer software, which uses drag-and-drop programming to speed up commissioning. This EU unit is set up for 230V operation, and, like other ControlSpace EX processors, it works with EX-UH, EX-4ML, and EX-8ML Dante endpoints to extend microphone and device connectivity around a building.
