BSS Soundweb London BLU-BIB 8-channel analog break-in box (UK)

The Soundweb London BLU-BIB, or break-in box, offers 8 channels of analog audio input expansion onto the Soundweb London high-bandwidth, fault-tolerant digital audio bus. It is designed for installations that need additional analog inputs beyond what a primary Soundweb London chassis provides, without requiring a full additional signal processor.

Input channel assignment on the BLU-BIB is configured through six rear-panel DIP switches, which select consecutive channel banks in groups of eight from the 256 channels available on the digital audio bus. This hardware-based configuration approach means the BLU-BIB does not require HiQnet Audio Architect for channel setup, simplifying deployment in the field.

Each of the 8 analog inputs offers switchable phantom power per channel, allowing condenser microphones to be connected directly where needed, while other channels can remain unpowered for line-level sources. Front panel LED indicators display signal present and power status clearly, giving installers immediate confirmation of correct operation without needing a connected PC.

The BLU-BIB features a low-latency, fault-tolerant 256-channel digital audio bus over standard Category 5e cabling, extendable beyond 10 kilometers using the BSS Audio MC-1 fiber optic media converter with single mode fiber. It is available in a half-rack, desk or wall mounted chassis, powered by an included 12VDC adapter, and integrates seamlessly with the wider Soundweb London product family.
