The JBL Intellivox DS280 Self-Powered Loudspeaker is engineered for environments requiring excellent speech intelligibility, including transport hubs, lecture halls, conference facilities, and large reverberant spaces. It provides a consistent sound pressure level over distances up to 35 meters, with the potential for even greater coverage in less demanding acoustic conditions. The system features sixteen custom 4-inch full-range loudspeakers arranged according to JBL’s patented algorithm, all powered by an eight-channel class-D amplifier with a sophisticated switched-mode power supply to ensure reliable, long-term operation.

The DS280 integrates a comprehensive set of surveillance functions to comply with stringent Voice Alarm (life safety) requirements. Control is achieved through JBL’s proprietary WinControl software, which provides user-friendly management of beam steering parameters, audio processing, presets, and surveillance functions.
